COCKFOSTERS

These classes are very old-established and successful.  All levels of ability are welcome.  I have excellent access to a large artists' materials company and students can order items at the class for the following week.  I also have a stock of basic pastel paper, still at 10p per sheet!

The RAM models I employ are outstandingly good - professional, pleasant and inspiring in their poses.  Each model is booked for two consecutive weeks, and there are a few short poses followed by a longer one.  A variety of media is used, icluding charcoal, pencil, waterclour and acrylics.  Teaching is on a one-to-one basis in a group setting.

Fees are £135 for a term of ten sessions, payable in advance to ensure there is no overcrowding.

BATTERSEA LIFE DRAWING GROUP

The Battersea Life Drawing group provides artists with an opportunity to draw the male figure without the restrictions of formal institutional life classes normally available at adult educational centres.  Drawing boards and basic materials are provided but members are advised to provide their own pencils, paper & charcoal.  Charge for model expenses is £8 per person.

Alternate Tuesday evenings, 7 – 9.30pm

The group is informal and the workshop starts with 5-10 minute 'warm-up' poses.  There is a short break at 8pm and, if required, a group appraisal for 10 minutes at the end.

Tube: Clapham Common.  Mainline trains from Clapham Junction station (15 min walk) or 137 bus, from Sloane Square or Clapham Common tube stations.  Also, bus 77 or 87 from Clapham Junction, Vauxhall or Waterloo.

The Shrewsbury Life Drawing Workshop is a friendly and informal meeting-place for artists who wish to develop or maintain their life drawing skills.

The sessions are held on Tuesday evenings, 7-9pm, at the BELMONT ARTS CENTRE, on a drop-in basis.  You should bring your own materials,including drawing boards and easels, if required.  The venue is in the centre of the town.

These life art workshops are hosted by the RAM Regional Rep for Beds & Northants.  The main event takes place on Saturdays every three to four weeks.  Two models pose,separately or together, as required.  There is a nice buffet lunch with wine.  Sessions run from 10 - 5.30.  The cost is £20.

There are occasionally additional sessions at other times, arranged to suit artists.  Conveniently near M1 junction.  Also, there are frequent trains from London (Brighton to Bedford line) and lifts from the station can be arranged.
