RAM Life Drawing Groups

Exciting new venture !!!

Studio with workshop leader / tutor available for private sessions run by RAM  You get the group together, we do the rest! Something a bit different for your hen or birthday party!!

We have a lovely room available and can provide models and materials for life drawing sessions - or we can come to you.  The sessions can either be tutored or untutored.  You can usually bring your own wine/champagne or whatever- or sometimes the venues have a bar.

Schedule and Prices

The workshop can be any time, any day.  We can run them at the weekend, if that suits you.  They can be for just an hour or 2 or all day! The class will vary in cost depending on numbers and requirements.

The workshops are suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced artists.  We can provide tuition, if required. We are very flexible, so if you want to get a group together, get in touch and we can work something out. .

BATTERSEA

The Battersea Life Drawing Group provides artists the opportunity to draw the male figure regardless of ability.  Drawing boards and basic materials are provided. You can be a beginner or more experienced figurative artist.  The workshops are friendly and relaxed where people can express themselves.  Cost for model expenses 10.00 per session.

Time: Alternative Thursday evenings, 7 – 9pm.  The group is informal and the workshop starts with 5-10 minute ‘warm-up’ poses and, if required, a group appraisal for 10 minutes at the end.

Location: The Art Shack, Garfield Community Centre, 64 Garfield Rd, Battersea SW11, off Lavender Hill.

How to get there: Tube Clapham Common. mainline trains from Clapham Junction station is 15 min walk or 137 bus, from Sloane Square or Clapham Common tube stations, or bus 77 or 87 from Clapham Junction, Vauxhall or Waterloo.

BARNES

8 week course of evening life drawing classes in Dare to Joust, a contemporary gallery in Barnes, West London.

Commencing Tuesday May 11th and every Tuesday after that.  From 7.30-9.30pm.

£10 per class.

Easels, paper, charcoal, inks provided.  Male and female models.  All levels welcome.  Tuition available.  Refreshments provided.

MITCHAM

An interesting new venture in life drawing and sculpture.  All day Saturday sessions using RAM models. This small art/sculpture/photographic studio in Mitcham, South London can accommodate up to 4 artists at any one time.  Charges start at just £20 for a Saturday session plus shared costs of any models used.  The studio can also be made available anytime between 9am and midnight during the week for an additional charge.  Specialising in the male form, help or tuition is available if required.  Your work can then be sold from the website if required.

COCKFOSTERS

These classes are very old-established and successful.  All levels of ability are welcome.  I have excellent access to a large artists' materials company and students can order items at the class for the following week.  I also have a stock of basic pastel paper, still at 10p per sheet!

The RAM models I employ are outstandingly good - professional, pleasant and inspiring in their poses.  Each model is booked for two consecutive weeks, and there are a few short poses followed by a longer one.  A variety of media is used, icluding charcoal, pencil, waterclour and acrylics.  Teaching is on a one-to-one basis in a group setting.

Fees are £135 for a term of ten sessions, payable in advance to ensure there is no overcrowding.

The Shrewsbury Life Drawing Workshop is a friendly and informal meeting-place for artists who wish to develop or maintain their life drawing skills.

The sessions are held on Tuesday evenings, 7-9pm, at the BELMONT ARTS CENTRE, on a drop-in basis.  You should bring your own materials,including drawing boards and easels, if required.  The venue is in the centre of the town.

The main event takes place on Saturdays every three to four weeks.  Two models pose,separately or together, as required.  There is a nice buffet lunch with wine.  Sessions run from 10 - 5.30.  The cost is £20.

There are occasionally additional sessions at other times, arranged to suit artists.  Conveniently near M1 junction.  Also, there are frequent trains from London (Brighton to Bedford line) and lifts from the station can be arranged.

HEMEL HEMPSTEAD

The class will be suitable for all, with as much or as little tuition as you'd like. The cost includes tuition and, of course, refreshments. We will have some basic materials, charcoal, newsprint, ...and a few easels.  But please bring your own materials, board, paper etc for the session.  There will be a variation of very short and longer poses.

Time: Last Friday of each month from 10.30am ~ 12.30pm

LIFE DRAWING WEDNESDAYS IN CARDIFF!!

Based in the lovely yurt at the rear of Milgi Lounge (213 City Road) the Cardiff Life Model Co-operative will be providing two models, one male, one female, to pose for artists.  Each session will start at 7pm and finish at 8.30pm.  There is an entry fee - 5.00.  So, why not grab a coffee or cocktail and join us at Milgi Lounge for some sketching.

Time: Wednesdays, 7 - 8.30pm
