George Farkas tribute  continued

George's colleague and friend, the artist and tutor Stewart Ganley, said:

"George had not been well for over two years, after being diagnosed with a heart condition.  In July, this year, he went into hospital for a pacemaker and we were all hoping that he would make a sound recovery.  Sadly, that was not to be.

I have known George for over thirty years from our art school days.  George Farkas was a painter, a ceramicist, a teacher and a man of great kindness and generosity.  George inspired many students over the years with his knowledge and skill in the practice of painting and pottery.  He will be sadly missed by all his friends and devoted students."
