RAM affiliated life art workshops and classes
Life art workshops and classes are said to be RAM affiliated if they use only RAM members or models auditioning to join, and pay the RAM members at least the RAM rate (currently £12.50 per hour). Affiliated groups are not obliged to audition people in order to recommend them for membership of RAM, but this service is very useful. ('Erotic' art groups cannot audition models for membership). Payment of auditioning models is discretionary. If you qualify for affiliation, email us with details of your sessions and we will put them on this page.

RAM Life Drawing Groups Studio with workshop leader / tutor available for private sessions run by RAM You get the group together, we do the rest! Something a bit different for your hen or birthday party!! We have a lovely room available and can provide models and materials for life drawing sessions - or we can come to you. The sessions can either be tutored or untutored. You can usually bring your own wine/champagne or whatever- or sometimes the venues have a bar. Schedule and Prices The workshop can be any time, any day. We can run them at the weekend, if that suits you. They can be for just an hour or 2 or all day! The class will vary in cost depending on numbers and requirements. The workshops are suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced artists. We can provide tuition, if required. DULWICH The Dulwich Art Group is now a well-established group run by artists for artists with no formal tutor although guidance is available for those who seek it. We meet twice a week: Saturdays from 10am to 1pm and Wednesdays from 12.30 to 3.30pm. Poses are usually set for 3 week periods, with a separate model for the Wednesday group and the Saturday group. We provide easels and boards but not art materials. Sessions are organised on a drop-in basis and at 10.00 per session including tea/coffee and biscuits or fruit etc. it is very good value. This small art/sculpture/photographic studio in Mitcham, South London can accommodate up to 4 artists at any one time. Charges start at just 20.00 for a Saturday session plus shared costs of any models used. COCKFOSTERS These classes are very old-established and successful. All levels of ability are welcome. I have excellent access to a large artists' materials company and students can order items at the class for the following week. I also have a stock of basic pastel paper, still at 10p per sheet! The RAM models I employ are outstandingly good - professional, pleasant and inspiring in their poses. Each model is booked for two consecutive weeks, and there are a few short poses followed by a longer one. A variety of media is used, including charcoal, pencil, waterclour and acrylics. Teaching is on a one-to-one basis in a group setting. Fees are £204 for a term of 12 sessions, payable in advance to ensure there is no overcrowding.
